Pais Mes Brebis is French for Feed My Sheep. I made this video a few years ago in an effort to help the missionaries show a video that wasn’t simply an American video dubbed into French. It was made in France and Switzerland by the local members with missionary work in France in mind.
The idea was brought to me by the missionaries in the mission home who were going home soon and had some time to help produce something specifically for the Francophone people. Intended to help remind the members of the reasons why we do missionary work, the mission president also encouraged the missionaries to show it to investigators as an introduction as to why we are so vigilant about sharing our message.
The story depicts the process of investigation to baptism and then sharing the gospel message to fulfill the commandment to feed the Lord’s sheep. At the end there are several testimonies of a variety of members in France who share parts of their conversion stories. It was received so well by the members and the missionaries had a great time sharing it with investigators.
This is an expert from a letter that was forwarded by the mission president.
“The members had a less-active friend over and she sat in and participated in the lesson. After some discussion, the conversation diverged a little and she started expressing her feelings of how she does not like missionary work, at all. She pretty much offended me and my companion, and we walked out of there feeling TERRIBLE. So we prayed to know what we could do to further help this family and this less-active to understand what we are trying to do and not see the negative side of it all.
So on Tuesday we had our second rendezvous and when we walked in, the less-active member was there. We were both a little apprehensive but we went in and taught the lesson we had prepared. We shared a little scripture and talked about the importance about the Book of Mormon. We then watched Pais Mes Brebis. By the end the less-active was in tears and had to leave the room. The spirit was SO strong in the room. We made a few comments about the importance of missionary work and tryed to explain what it really is. My companion asked the less active sister if she had something to add and at first she said no, but then started commenting. She bore her testimony of the importance of the basic principles of the gospel, including Book of Mormon, and how important it is to always remember and hold strong to these things. At that moment she realized thats what she had let slip, or forgot over the past few years. She realized what missionary work truly was and what great joy can come from it. The spirit opened her heart that evening. So after this rendezvous my companion and I walked out on a spiritual high and said a prayer immediately thanking our heavenly father for the help that we had received this evening.”
